PESTICIDE AWARENESS WORKSHOP - Barrie, Ontario WHO: Bonnie Henderson, Groundswell Stratford & Peggy Land HDUUP Ottawa WHAT: Discouraging Pesticide Use WHEN: May 5, 2001 WHERE: Spring Eco-Gathering, Barrie Ontario HOW MUCH: Event Admission CALL: Janet McNeill (905) 985-1121 Bonnie Henderson from Groundswell in Stratford, will discuss the work she and her group have done to discourage pesticide use. Peggy Land, from the Health Dangers of Urban Use Pesticides Working Group, Region of Ottawa- Carleton, will also take part in this workshop. She will demonstrate the full gear that sprayers are supposed to wear. Both Bonnie and Peggy are involved in the provincial Campaign for Pesticide Reduction Ontario (CPRO) group. There will be some discussion at the end of the workshop about the possibility of starting up a new Pesticides Issues Caucus within the OEN. OEN Caucuses provide an opportunity for groups active on similar issues to network, share information and engage in joint work. If you have any questions, please feel free to phone or email me!
